Who We Are

The Science Education Resource Center (SERC) at San Jose State University was established in 1958 and is a unique educational resource center that houses over 5000 science resources in the thematic areas of Earth Science, Physical Science, and Life Science. We strive to facilitate the delivery of high quality, inquiry-based preK-12 grade instruction and to supplement and enrich the science curriculum in the classrooms and out community. Our users include in-service & pre-service teachers, SJSU students, and staff, faculty. Our patrons can check out science equipment, biofacts, books, DVDs, and videos. They can also become certified in our Wildlife Ambassador program and be allowed to bring animals such as a tarantula, snake or tortoise into their classroom.
